About the Program
The goal of Pink Horse Performance is education and competition. Clients will be encouraged to attend shows and away events in order to promote the training program and demonstrate knowledge gained.
A belief in the comprehensive training and education of horses/students is paramount and as such the whole horse/rider partnership will be developed. The best riders are lifelong learners and this attitude will be demonstrated by the visible continuing education of trainer, Laurie Ann Salmi. All are welcome to visit and witness for yourself the value of comprehensive education.
PHP’s partnership with Clarcona Farm and Stables allows Laurie access to a wonderful boarding and training facility. Linda Wetzstein, owner and 4H leader, has dedicated her life to educating people about animals. Her love for her farm is so evident when she is interacting with clients. The peaceful setting allows Laurie to train horses and educate clients in the many aspects of Arabian show horse disciplines. Students from leadline to national level showing find what they need here. A wonderful collection of Arabian bred school horses are available to students. These highly intelligent Arabians find all the entertainment they need watching the antics of the farm animals ranging from chickens to goats to donkeys and potbellied pigs! There is never a dull moment here!
Laurie also has limited availablility to travel to your facility. It works best when several riders get together and schedule a clinic type situation.
Here are some kind words that have been said about Laurie Ann Salmi.
“Laurie had a wonderful approach to learning. She was detailed oriented when she needed to be but not so that it was overwhelming for Sarah. She was always kind and considerate not only of the rider, but the horse as well and made it fun. She was clearly dedicated to the welfare of both horse and rider.”
Janie Oberman – mother of a former student
“She has an extraordinary ability to communicate with her students and with the horses she rides and is truly a wonderful teacher -”
Bobbi Pincetich – former student
“Laurie always put me at ease and explained things in a way I could understand. I am sure you have encountered your share of talented riders, not all riders can teach, but Laurie can do both. If you can not understand what she is trying to say or teach she will try various examples until you can get it right!”
Kelly Slagle - former student
” I have the greatest confidence in her ability as a horsewoman – I love her calm but firm demeanor with the horses. She is great at giving riders confidence in their own ability and the desire to succeed. She is also a wonderful teacher and her professionalism is exemplary.”
Tracy Webster - Webster’s Arabians
“Laurie has the uncanny ability to identify issues in both the rider and horse that others may miss. She also can explain to riders and myself what is happening and offers understandable solutions to the problems. I can call her on the phone with a rider problem and she can help me solve it in minutes. She is also wonderful helping me find the right saddles for riders. Having the correct saddle is so important for riders to be successful.”
Wendy Potts - The Brass Ring Inc.
“As a person, Laurie has the highest level of integrity. She is a very knowledgeable horsewoman, but at the same time she never stops striving to learn more. A top instructor as well as a beautiful rider in many different disciplines. Laurie offers a well rounded equestrian experience to any level.”
Kimberly Prince - Grand Prix jumper rider, Snowbrook
